She was never meant to be soft.
In the oldest layer of the story, Lilith was the first woman — formed from the same earth as the first man, equal in origin and in breath. When she was told to lie beneath him, she refused. She would not be the ground for another’s power. She spoke the hidden name of the divine and left.
What followed was centuries of exile and distortion. The tradition that could not contain her turned her into a night demon, a killer of children, a seductress who waited in the dark to corrupt. The wild feminine that would not submit was rewritten as danger.
Black Moon Lilith is not a planet. She is a point — the lunar apogee, the farthest place in the Moon’s orbit from the Earth. She marks the place of greatest distance, the outer edge, the territory that remains untamed. In the chart and in the sky she carries the memory of what was cast out so that a more controllable order could be maintained.
She is the part of us that will not be domesticated. The refusal that lives in the body. The rage that was never given a clean voice. The sovereignty that would rather be alone than become smaller in order to be kept.
Lilith does not ask to be liked. She asks to be acknowledged.
How to honour her
To work with Lilith is not to become destructive or permanently oppositional. It is to stop abandoning the part of you that knows when something is false.
Honour her by refusing to betray your own knowing for the sake of belonging. Honour her by letting anger move through the body instead of turning it inward as shame or outward as indirect harm. Honour her by telling the truth even when your voice shakes. Honour her by reclaiming the places in yourself that were labelled too much, too wild, too angry, too sexual, too independent.
Lilith’s gift is not chaos. It is the restoration of the life force that was exiled. When she is conscious, she becomes fierce clarity and unapologetic self-possession. When she is denied, she becomes the shadow that undermines from beneath — sabotage, resentment, sudden eruptions, or a chronic sense of being fundamentally unacceptable.
The work is to bring her in from the cold without letting her burn the house down.
Her current movement
Black Moon Lilith has been moving through Sagittarius for much of this year. In Sagittarius she confronts the stories we have lived by — the beliefs, the moral frameworks, the spiritual identities, the big truths we claim to serve. She asks where our freedom has become another form of performance, and where our seeking has been used to avoid the rawer truths of the body and the heart.
In the coming weeks and months she begins to press against the edge of Capricorn. True Black Moon Lilith moves with a more erratic rhythm than the mean position; she will dip into Capricorn, station, and return, creating a prolonged activation of the Sagittarius–Capricorn threshold through the remainder of 2026.
Where Sagittarius seeks freedom and meaning, Capricorn demands form, consequence, and integrity in the structures we build. Lilith at this edge becomes less interested in abstract liberty and more interested in whether the structures of our lives can actually hold a sovereign being. She will expose where we have traded our wildness for status, security, or respectability — and where the cost of that trade has become too high.
This is not a gentle transit. It is a stripping.
Living with her now
The invitation of this period is to stop negotiating with the parts of yourself that were never meant to be civilised.
Where have you abandoned your own authority in order to remain acceptable? Where has your desire been reshaped to fit someone else’s comfort? Where does the old exile still live in the body as tension, silence, or sudden fury?
Lilith does not require you to become hard. She requires you to stop being false.
The celestial point that carries her name continues its slow, irregular path through the outer reaches of the lunar orbit. She remains what she has always been: the reminder that something essential in us was never meant to kneel.
Bring her closer. Not as a weapon. As a truth that was always yours.
