There is a teaching circulating that says everything is equal.
That light and dark are the same.
That good and evil are just two sides of one coin, and the spiritually advanced person no longer prefers one over the other.
This teaching is incomplete. And in some cases, it is dangerous.
Yes - duality is real in the human experience.
We are given the capacity to create and to destroy, to love and to harm, to tell the truth and to deceive. Without that capacity, free will would be an illusion. Choice requires contrast. Experience requires polarity.
But the Flame itself is not dual.
The living current that we call the Flame, Source, or pure consciousness is not a mixture of light and darkness. It is prior to the split. It is the field in which polarity can arise, but it is not made of both poles in equal measure.
Unconditional Love does not mean that harm and healing are the same frequency.
It does not mean that the violation of a child and the protection of a child are equally valid expressions of consciousness.
It does not require us to dissolve moral clarity into a vague spiritual neutrality.
That version of “non-judgment” is often just spiritualised passivity - or worse, a quiet permission structure for darkness to continue unchallenged.
The Two Common Traps
Most people fall into one of two errors when facing extreme darkness.
Trap One: Hatred and Revenge
We see genuine evil - especially when it is done to the innocent - and something in us wants to answer it with equal force. We want the perpetrator to feel what they caused. We want the scales balanced by suffering.
This response is understandable. It is also a frequency match.
Hatred binds you to what you hate. Two negatives do not create a positive. They only increase the charge of the original wound. The one who lives in revenge remains tethered to the act they despise.
Trap Two: False Oneness
We take the teaching that “all is one” and stretch it until it erases distinction. We tell ourselves that the abuser is also the divine, that the act was somehow necessary for the soul’s growth, that judgment itself is the real problem.
This is not higher consciousness.
It is a collapse of discernment.
It often functions as a spiritual bypass that protects the person from the full emotional weight of what has occurred - and, in doing so, abandons the ones who were harmed.
Both traps keep the system intact.
What the Flame Actually Requires
The deeper position is more demanding than either of the above.
It requires the capacity to look directly at what has been done without flinching, without soft language, and without turning away.
It requires the refusal to feed the darkness with your own hatred.
And it requires the simultaneous refusal to pretend the darkness is something other than what it is.
You can understand the mechanisms that produce extreme harm - trauma, possession, bloodline patterning, free-will extremes taken to their limit - without ever calling those mechanisms sacred.
You can recognise that a soul can become so distorted that it feeds on innocence, and still know that this distortion is not the Flame expressing itself. It is the absence of the Flame. It is disconnection taken to its furthest degree.
Forgiveness, in this context, does not mean emotional softness toward the act.
It does not mean reconciliation.
It does not mean “I understand why you did it and therefore it is okay.”
It means:
I will not let what you did turn me into a carrier of the same poison.
I will not hand you my frequency.
I will remain clear enough to see, to name, and - where possible - to protect.
That is a much harder path than either rage or spiritualised neutrality.
The Real Work of Polarity
In the human experience we are free to walk the negative path or the positive path. That freedom is real. The consequences are also real.
As frequency rises, something shifts.
We begin to feel the interconnectedness of all things. We begin to sense that the same current moves through every being. This is true. But interconnection does not erase the difference between a frequency that generates life and a frequency that extracts and degrades it.
The higher the frequency, the clearer the distinction becomes - not the blurrier.
Those who are truly connected to the Flame do not become less capable of recognising harm. They become more precise. They stop wasting energy on reactive hatred, and they stop collapsing into false equivalence. They hold both the full truth of what occurred and the refusal to become it.
This is not neutrality.
It is clarity under pressure.
A Note on the Severing
The story of Adam and Eve, as it has been remembered in my book Severed, points to an original fracture - a cutting of the human being from direct knowing. That fracture created the conditions for polarity to be weaponised. Once the connection to the living current was obscured, the poles could be played against each other. Light could be framed as weakness. Darkness could be framed as power. And the human being could be kept oscillating between the two, never stable enough to remember what stands prior to both.
The return is not the merging of light and dark into sameness.
The return is the restoration of the field that was never dual to begin with.
From that field, action becomes clean.
Protection becomes possible without hatred.
Truth can be spoken without the need to destroy the speaker of the opposite view.
And the ones who harm the innocent can be seen clearly - without being fed, and without being spiritualised into something they are not.
Closing
Two negatives do not make a positive.
False oneness does not heal what has been broken.
And the Flame does not require you to call darkness light in order to remain connected to it.
Stay clear.
Stay honest.
Refuse both the hunger for revenge and the comfort of spiritual bypass.
That is how the darkness is met without being multiplied.
That is how the Flame remains the Flame.
