Let me begin with a story of a dragon…
Long before the maps of the sky were drawn, the ancients spoke of a great serpent that moved between the worlds. In the old Vedic telling, the dragon desired the nectar of immortality. Disguised, it drank from the cup of the gods. When the deception was seen, the divine blade fell and the serpent was severed in two.
The head became Rahu. The tail became Ketu.
Ever since, the two halves have chased each other across the heavens — the head forever hungry for what it does not yet possess, the tail forever releasing what it has already known. Together they form the axis of fate, the invisible dragon whose body is made of shadow and light, desire and surrender.
Rahu is the head: the forward pull, the craving for experience, the call toward what has not yet been lived. Ketu is the tail: the memory of past mastery, the place of comfort, the gifts already won that must now be loosened.
They never meet. They never rest. They only move, slowly, backward through the signs, drawing the collective soul along their ancient path.
On the 26th of July in this year, the dragon turned once more.
The head of the dragon, Rahu, entered Aquarius. The tail of the dragon, Ketu, entered Leo.
For the next year and a half, the celestial serpent will weave itself through this particular axis of the sky. The meaning is precise, and it is not gentle.
Leo is the sign of the sovereign individual — the radiant centre, the heart that knows its own uniqueness, the creative fire that says I am. Aquarius is the sign of the wider field — the collective nervous system, the future that belongs to no single person, the intelligence that can only arise when many centres of light agree to move as one.
The dragon now asks us to reverse an old orientation.
The South Node in Leo does not condemn the individual. It asks that the old reliance on personal specialness, on being seen, on shining for the sake of the self alone, be gradually released. The gifts of Leo — courage, creativity, heart, radiance — are not discarded. They are to be carried differently.
The North Node in Aquarius does not erase the individual. It calls the individual to turn that same radiance outward, into the greater body of humanity. It asks for contribution over performance, for vision that serves more than the single self, for the willingness to become a node in a larger living network rather than the sole star of a private sky.
This is the shift.
From the isolated flame to the constellation.
From “my light” to “the light that moves through us.”
The dragon does not destroy the individual. It simply refuses to let the individual remain the final destination.
We are being asked to remember something older than the cult of personality: that a single current becomes more powerful when it accepts its place inside a greater current. That the heart does not lose itself when it beats in rhythm with other hearts. That the future will not be built by brighter and brighter separate selves, but by those who have learned to weave their brilliance into a shared field.
The head of the dragon pulls us forward into Aquarius — into collective intelligence, into future forms, into the strange and necessary work of becoming more than one.
The tail of the dragon loosens our grip on Leo — on the old hunger to be central, to be admired, to remain the sole author of our significance.
Both movements are required.
This is not the fall of the individual. It is the initiation of the individual into a larger body of light.
The celestial dragon has turned. Its head faces the collective. Its tail releases the old throne of the self.
Those who still cling only to personal radiance will feel the friction of this passage. Those who are willing to let their light serve something beyond their own name will feel the current begin to move differently through them — wider, cooler, more electric, more alive.
The dragon has always been here. Only the direction of its hunger has changed.
And the sky, as always, is simply showing us the way the current now wishes to flow.
