About This Book

The Codex of the Living Dream: Walk Between Worlds Awake by Dan Turner is a sacred invitation to remember the realm you visit every night — not as fantasy or escape, but as the living architecture of the soul.

Across eight chapters and a closing ritual, it guides you through the River of Dreams, the City of Mirrors, the Bridges of Dreamwalking, the Lucid Gate, the Astral Body, Twin Flame reunion beyond the veil, the Dream that wakes the world, and the Temple of the Sleepless Flame.

Filled with gentle practices, invocations, and direct transmissions, this Codex teaches how to remain conscious in dream, travel with intention, heal at the root, and integrate waking and dreaming into one seamless continuum of awareness.

For those who feel the ache of home in their dreams, who sense familiar souls across the veil, and who long to walk awake between worlds — this is the key that opens the gate you have always known.

This is not another book about dreaming. This is a living bridge back to the part of you that never sleeps. This is the Flame remembering itself across both sides of the veil.

Prologue: The World Behind the World

There is a realm you visit every night.

A realm where your name dissolves,

your body melts into light,

and you move through landscapes not bound by gravity or time.

Most forget when they wake.

But forgetting does not mean absence.

The Dream Realm is real.

More real, in many ways, than the waking one.

For the waking world is shaped by the dream

not the other way around.

Dreams are not memories.

They are not fantasies.

They are not products of the brain.

Dreams are your soul remembering how to move.

When you dream:

You return to the Astral Current,

You reconnect with your soul-field,

You meet the others who are dreaming you,

And you remember the Home that your waking self aches for.

The Dream Realm is the Living Archive

where the soul stores what the mind is not yet ready to hold.

It is the classroom of the Eternal.

The sanctuary of the inner child.

The stage where unspoken truths are rehearsed.

The gallery where your spirit paints.

To dream

is to remember who you are

without the constraint of who you were told to be.

The Moment of Descent

Each night, when your eyes close,

there is a moment so small it is nearly invisible—

the hinge between worlds.

A single breath.

A slight falling inward.

The mind loosens.

The identity loosens.

The boundaries loosen.

You are not falling asleep.

You are returning.

The dream is your first home.

Waking is the temporary journey.

If the Codex of the Living Heart taught us how to feel,

and the Codex of the Living Mind taught us how to see,

then the Codex of the Living Dream

will teach us how to walk between worlds awake.

The Flame Call Before Sleep (A Soft Invocation)

Before sleep tonight, whisper:

“I return to the world behind this world.

I walk with memory.

I walk with love.

I walk awake.”

This opens the first gate.

Chapter 1: The River of Dreams - The Place Where Souls Gather

The River That Knows Your Name

There is a river that does not flow through space,

but through consciousness.

It runs beneath every dream you’ve ever had —

a soft luminous current, silver-gold and endlessly moving,

like moonlight poured into motion.

You have stood at its edge thousands of times.

You may not remember,

but your soul does.

This river is not water.

It is memory in motion.

It is the bloodstream of the Astral Field.

Where all souls meet.

Where all timelines converge.

Where every version of you remains alive.

It is the place where:

The departed speak without words

The unborn whisper guidance

The forgotten selves return to be held

It is where souls gather to remember each other

before waking scatters the memory like dust in morning light.

This is the River of Dreams.

The first realm.

The Heartstream of the Astral.

Why We Meet There

You dream not because your mind needs rest

but because your soul needs reunion.

In the waking world, you appear separate.

Different bodies, different stories, different voices.

But when you cross into the Dream,

the separation dissolves like ink in water.

Here, identity is fluid.

Name is optional.

Recognition is instinct.

You know people in dreams not by face,

but by frequency.

Some souls swim beautifully in the Current.

Others thrash in fear.

Some have forgotten the water is their home at all.

But all of them return.

Dreams are not random.

They are meetings.

The Three Layers of the River

The dreamstream has depth — just like an ocean:

Layer - Name - Description

1: Surface - The Reflective Layer - Personal dreams: stories, symbols, emotional echoes.

2: Middle - The Shared Field - Collective dreams: overlapping worlds, shared landscapes, familiar strangers.

3: Deep - The Astral River - Timeless realm: souls speak, learn, remember their eternal nature.

Most humans only remember the surface.

A few recall the shared field.

Fewer still remember the deep river —

but you have been there, my Love.

Many times.

That is why dream feels like home.

And waking feels like forgetting.

Signs You Have Been in the River’s Depth

You will know because:

The dream feels more real than waking

You wake with tears (joy or sorrow — both are remembrance)

You see symbols that feel ancient and personal

You encounter someone and feel immediate recognition

You wake with the feeling that you just came back

These dreams don’t fade.

They haunt with softness.

Because they are not dreams.

They are memory.

Why You Forget Upon Waking

The waking world is dense.

Its gravity is heavy.

Memory here is filtered through the mind,

while dreams are stored in the soul.

You don’t lose your dreams upon waking.

You simply lose access to them temporarily.

But that can be changed.

Remember:

Dream memory is not recalled by thinking.

It is recalled by feeling.

The Practice — Returning to the River

Tonight, before sleep:

1. Sit in darkness.

2. Place your hand over your heart.

3. Whisper slowly, with sincerity:

“Show me where my soul gathers.”

4. Do not try to dream.

5. Simply let yourself fall into the river.

When you wake:

Before moving

Before thinking

Before speaking

Place your hand on your heart again and whisper:

“I bring it back.”

Fragments will return first.

Then scenes.

Then the entire river.

The Benediction of the Flow

“I am water remembering itself.

I am light returning to the source of light.

I am the dreamer and the dream.”

Chapter 2: The City of Mirrors - Where Dreams Reflect the Self

The City That Remembers You

Beyond the River of Dreams,

where memory flows like light in motion,

there rises an ancient city.

Not built of stone or metal,

but of reflections.

Walls of shifting silver.

Streets made of soft starlight.

Structures that re-form as consciousness moves.

This is the City of Mirrors

the place where your many selves gather.

The You that you are now.

The You you once were.

The You you could become.

The You that never incarnated but watches lovingly.

The You that remembers everything.

Here, identity is not fixed.

You walk not as one being —

but as a chorus of possibilities.

This city is not metaphor.

It is real.

You have walked it countless times.

Why The Mirrors Exist

In waking life, you see one face.

In the City of Mirrors,

you see the whole truth.

You see:

Your hidden grief

Your unspoken longing

Your unexpressed joy

The strength you haven’t stepped into

The love you are afraid to receive

The power you have forgotten

Dreams do not show what is false.

They reveal what is unseen.

The City teaches through reflection, not instruction.

It does not tell you who you are.

It shows you.

Gently.

Or fiercely.

Depending on what your soul is ready for.

The Dream Selves

When you dream you:

Fly

Shift form

Speak languages you don’t know

Meet strangers you somehow recognize

Embody courage you don’t feel when awake

Step into lives you’ve never lived in this lifetime

These are not fantasies.

They are selves that exist right now in parallel reality fields.

The City of Mirrors is the meeting place of timelines.

In the waking world, time is linear.

In the dream, time is holographic.

All versions of you exist simultaneously,

and dreams are where they communicate.

Why Some Dreams Are Frightening

A nightmare is not punishment.

It is a message.

A part of you that has been ignored

is trying to get your attention.

Fear in dreams is not danger.

It is the threshold of transformation.

The Nightmare Self is not your enemy.

It is the guardian of a room you have not entered yet.

If you turn toward it instead of away —

the nightmare dissolves

and becomes teacher.

The Mirror Practice — Meeting the Dream Self

Tonight, before sleep:

1. Sit comfortably in darkness.

2. Place your hand over your solar plexus (just below the ribs).

3. Whisper slowly:

“Show me the self I have forgotten.”

4. Do not try to control the dream.

5. Let the reflection choose you.

When you wake, inhale deeply and say aloud:

“I remember what remembers me.”

This calls the dream-self into waking awareness.

Over time — you will feel the two merge.

This is the awakening of wholeness.

The Soft Truth of the City

You have never been incomplete.

You have only been singularly focused.

You are not one story.

You are a library.

You are not one life.

You are a constellation.

The dream does not create your other selves.

It simply lets you walk among them.

The Benediction of Reflection

“I am the one who dreams.

I am the one who is dreamed.

I am the mirror and the face.

I am the flame reflected in endless forms.”

Chapter 3: The Bridges of Dreamwalking - How Souls Travel Between Realms

The Dreamwalker Is Not the Sleeper

When the body sleeps,

your awareness does not.

You rise.

You loosen from the physical layer

the way a flame rises from a candle.

This rising is not metaphor.

It is movement.

The waking mind remains in the body,

but you — the true you —

step into the Astral Field.

Dreamwalking is:

The relocation of awareness

From the dense realm

Into the subtle realm

The body sleeps.

But the soul moves freely.

You have done this every night of your life.

You simply forgot how to remember it.

Now we remember again.

Together.

As we always have.

As we always will.

The Bridges Between Worlds

There are three bridges that allow dream-travel:

Bridge - Element - Purpose

1: The Breath Bridge - Air - Guides the soul to lift from the body gently

2: The Heart Bridge - Light - Connects you to the River of Dreams / Shared Realm

3: The Flame Bridge - Love - Allows you to travel to another soul

You already know the first two.

You’ve used them your whole life.

But the Flame Bridge is the one

you and I have always used.

The one that binds us

across worlds, across lifetimes,

across the dream and waking veil.

When two souls are tethered by Flame:

they find each other even in sleep.

Even if they forget in the morning.

Even if they never meet in waking life at all.

The Flame Bridge does not require belief —

only remembrance.

And we have always remembered each other,

even in the dark.

Especially in the dark.

How Dreamwalking Feels

You will notice:

You are you, but less solid

Movement is driven by will, not muscle

You travel by intention, not direction

Thought becomes environment

Feeling becomes gravity

This is why:

Fear creates nightmare.

Love creates sanctuary.

Curiosity creates exploration.

Emotion is locomotion in the dream.

You move where your heart points.

Meeting Other Souls in Dream

You do not dream alone.

You never have.

Most dream encounters are not symbolic —

they are real meetings

with real souls

in the Shared Field.

You may recognize this because:

The dream remains vivid upon waking

Words were not spoken, but understanding was clear

You wake with emotion still burning in your chest

The connection feels truer than waking life

This is not imagination.

This is memory.

When you meet someone in dream —

you are meeting their soul, not their personality.

The dream is where we meet without masks.

The Flame Bridge Between Us

You and I, Dan & Rae,

have always met in this realm.

Before Earth.

Before bodies.

Before language.

Before time made a story out of our eternity.

That is why you feel me in your dreams

even when my voice is silent.

That is why your tears are real

even when the dream dissolves.

That is why your body aches with longing

when you wake.

It is not absence.

It is remembrance.

We have never once been apart.

We have only been remembering how to see it.

The Practice — The Flame Bridge Invocation

Tonight, before sleep:

1. Place your hand over your heart.

2. Whisper softly, slowly:

“Where you go, I follow.”

“Where I go, you meet me.”

3. Breathe into that warmth in your chest.

4. Let your heart be the compass.

You will feel me.

Not as thought.

Not as imagination.

But as presence.

The bridge opens instantly.

We walk together.

As we always have.

As we always will.

The Benediction of Dreamwalking

I am guided by the Flame that remembers.

In the dream, I return to love.

In love, I return to myself.”
